A bit about Marlyn: “I was born in Los Angeles and raised in Rosemead. I have a master’s degree in counseling from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University, Long Beach. I have been with David & Margaret for 6 months and have worked with the foster youth population for about 5 years. My husband and I have been married for 2 years and enjoying traveling when we can. On my time off, I love going coffee shops, hiking, doing yoga, going to the beach, and spending time with my dog, Fifi.”

What do you most enjoy about working here? “Being part of a positive team that is encouraging me to reach a level of professionalism that helps me develop the skills to the THP clients.”

If you could learn anything, what would it be and why? “Being a coffee lover, I would love to become a coffee connoisseur, learning the agriculture and the roasting process that brings the delicious flavors to our cup.”

Who are your role models?  “My role models are my sisters, who have always encouraged me and support me throughout my educational journey. I have always looked up to them as they pursued their professional/educational goals and have always given me great advice when needed.”

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up, and why? “When I was child, I wanted to become a background dancer for a music artist. My mom had me in dancing classes and I loved going. Once I became older, I realized I had other professional interests”

Saying or motto you live by? “Give to yourself, before you give yourself away.”
