I started volunteering at David & Margaret in 2009, when I joined the Joan Macy School Board of Directors. I served for seven years as president of that board. I’ve also served on David & Margaret's Capital Campaign Committee for permanent supportive housing and the Youth Workforce Training Center. My professional expertise is educational leadership, in which I hold a Doctorate in Education. I’ve worked in three school districts, where I served as principal of several schools, a director of human relations, and a chief business official. I volunteer on the board because I am so impressed with the staff at Joan Macy and David & Margaret. They willingly, lovingly, and with great competence, work with some of the most challenged and challenging children and youth in our society. It's an honor to help support them. In our spare time, my wife, Karen, and I greatly enjoy their children and grandchildren! We like to hike, travel, and garden, as well as volunteer in our church and community.
