I have worked at Joan Macy School since 2007. My goals for my students are to develop and encourage self-confidence and a sense of self-worth. I want to instill values that will help them be successful in life. We encourage questioning and higher-level thinking to create a desire to learn and the motivation to succeed. I love seeing a student’s face light up when she learns something new or finally gets a concept she has been struggling with for a long time. It has always been my passion to pass on knowledge to the younger generation. I am inspired by the JMS staff, whose devotion to the students is endless and the students themselves, who have overcome so much adversity in life and still manage to have the capacity to feel love and compassion.
