David and Margaret is proud to host a Blood Drive with The American Red Cross January 9th from Noon - 6pm on our main campus located at 1350 Third Street La Verne, CA 91750. Please join us in saving lives. You can sign up to donate here.
Donating one hour of your time has the potential of saving three human lives.
Of the 4 blood types (A, B, AB, and O) blood centers are regularly in short supply of O and B blood, but during the summer and winter months there are shortages of all blood types.
If you’re 16+ years of age and over 110lbs you could be eligible to donate blood.
Donating blood requires four simples steps:
1. Medical History
2. Quick Physical
3. 1 pint blood donation (10 - 15 min. time)
4. Snacks
Every year 4.5 million Americans rely on life-saving blood transfusions; women affected by pregnancy complications such as hemorrhage and ectopic pregnancies, people with severe trauma following accident or disasters, burn victims, children being treated for cancer or having heart surgery, and many more.
More than 50 pints (50 donations) of blood are required for those in severe car accidents and over 120 pints (120 donations) for an average bone marrow transplant.
If only one more percent of all Americans would give blood, blood shortages would disappear.
When you give blood, you give life.
We believe in supporting our community; volunteering and donating in all forms are important and to thank those participating in the blood drive you will receive a coupon for 25% off a purchase at Dave and Maggie’s Café valid through 1/31/19.
