There was a long-awaited and beautiful upgrade on campus this week.

The Auto Shop received a much-needed roof repair - an opportunity provided by The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation Grant awarded to David & Margaret Youth and Family Services.

The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation improves the well-being of the residents of Los Angeles County through responsive grantmaking in human services, civic and cultural, education, and health.

This is where maintenance for all the vehicles at David & Margaret takes place. These vehicles provide transportation to residential youth and students attending Joan Macy School. (Under the Safer at Home order all nonessential transportation has been canceled.)

The Auto Shop also plays a huge role in the Workforce Training Program, by offering hands-on skill-building to young adults with a history of foster care through paid internships. These young adults gain valuable experience working side by side with industry professionals.

The Workforce Training Program at David & Margaret connects eager, at-risk young adults with a history of foster care with Internships on campus at David & Margaret and throughout the community. Participants receive support to further their education, housing linkages, lifeskill & workforce training and much more.
