Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, volunteer activities have been postponed.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

One of the better-known benefits of volunteering is the impact on the community. Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. Helping out with even the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the lives of people that David & Margaret serves.

These are the areas we are seeking volunteers in:

Intern: College students receive college credit for a semester-long internship working with a specific program and under the supervision of staff who will support their educational goals.

Food Bank Distribution: Volunteer during the bi-monthly Food Bank Distribution! Includes a lot of standing, lifting, and cleaning.

Young Professionals Committee Comprised of dedicated adults who volunteer their time and talents to make real change in the lives of at-risk youth and families in the community while building professionals relationships and strengthening skills like leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and more.

Issue Expert Speakers: Professional businesspeople share their expertise on issues like banking, taxes, etc.

Recreation: (Volunteer lead activities) Teach or lead crafts or fitness activities with small groups of David & Margaret youth to help make their free time more enjoyable, therapeutic, and productive. Volunteers with special skills in areas such as music, yoga, or martial arts are especially desired.

Ministry Aides: Members of different faiths provide transportation to and from their house of worship, and give the youth an opportunity to participate in special activities there.

Administrative Volunteers: Individuals with experience and/or interest in marketing, public relations, or fundraising contribute their creative ideas, guidance, and community connections. Persons with clerical skills are needed to help with filing, data entry, making copies, and other general office duties.

Holiday Volunteers: Help organize and wrap holiday gifts.

Maintenance/Landscaping: Support maintenance staff with painting, carpentry, gardening, and tree pruning.

Dave and Maggie's Center: Assist with the sorting, organizing, and distribution of donated items in our nonprofit store.
